Bachelorette Party Madness!

Whit's bachelorette party is fast approaching and until about 3 days ago I felt like this.......

I've been wracking my brain trying to come up with something that is fun, yet not too cheesy and boring but also not a focus on penis'. haha  I tried to think up things that emcompass Whitney but none of them were sparking good ideas.....

I know they sponsor ALOT of events, but a bachelorette party didn't exactly seem up their alley!

Whit loves the show Cupcake Wars so I was trying to think of something to draw in this idea but trying to get people to make cupcakes at our house with one oven and weird ingredients was starting to not sound like a very fun time. Next!

Whit watches the Food Network nonstop!  Every morning her tv is usually tuned into Giada or Barefoot Contessa and she falls asleep to it everynight.  Must be why she can cook so good.  All those cooking shows are going into her sub conscience while she sleeps! haha  This again like Cupcake Wars was seeming like too much work and not enough fun.  How to balance between bachelorette fun and good wholesome fun? haha

Isaac obviously is a huge part of what makes up Whit but I figured he wouldn't want to be the source of entertainment for us that night so I better come up with another idea! haha

Whit, I love you to death but your hobbies are killing me when it comes to bachelorette party ideas! haha  I don't think everyone wants to come take a nap at our house like when we were in Kindergarten and everyone got their own mat! haha

THEN IT CAME TO ME!!!!

Why hadn't I thought of this before?  Of course!  Makes perfect sense!  Then the ideas just started rolling in!  I can't tell you what the ideas are just yet because Whit reads this blog, but just know that it's going to be fabulous! haha  Tami tells me that I have a way of taking an idea from what people would call normal and then going over the top.  I usually have to curb a lot of my ideas when I plan and then am disappointed with myself because I'm always thinking of how AMAZING it could have been! haha But this time I'm going all out.  It's Whit's bachelorette party!  How many times does your sister get married?  Well let's hope just the once! haha  So stay tuned for May 6th, when I will be filling you in on my ideas and how they came to fruition! :-)

Groomsmen Clothes

Now that Brian has most of his groomsman confirmed, we started looking at the guys' clothes.  I figure ordering stuff earlier than later is the best idea because we need to have everyone try on things and figure out what fits, etc.  So here are some of our options

Besides the shoes, I like these pants.  Brian hates them! haha

I like these as well but they are just more expensive than the first pair.

These aren't horrible but I didn't really want the guys to look like another day at the office.

Brian isn't sure about the wrinkle factor of the linen so we may end up with a cotton blend like this one.

I like this one so it is designed to wear untucked but we'll see.

Not a huge fan of these but they are the cheapest, and I can't say I care that much about the shoes.

I like these better and American Eagle is having a buy one get one half off sale, so that may work out.

Wedding Jewelry

I had bought my wedding jewelry earlier but after looking at it more closely have decided that I don't like it and not sure it's what I want to go with style wise.  So while I was home these past two weeks training new reps, my mom and I had some time to run to the mall.  After searching about every store, we went back to Nordstrom where I first found these.  I really liked them but I always hate buying the first thing I see and then seeing something at the next store I like better. :-)

I'm actually not going to wear the shorter strand.  Just the longer one with the pearls.

Out of this pile.....

Kind of crazy to think that all this stuff is actually going to come together(hopefully) and make a reception in 5 months!  I've been home for a week now training reps for work and it has made everything more real.  Monday I met with the rental place to lay out the backyard and figure out exactly what size table would go where and how many exactly we can fit in the backyard.  She told me we have plenty of room so that was encouraging to be able to fit everyone.  Then Wednesday I met with Jen from Spare Hands.  She is going to facilitate the whole reception for me.  I have vowed, being the control freak that I am, to have a good time the whole weekend and not stress over every little detail.  Jen is going to keep me sane that day.  They will make sure the food is out and stays hot, man the bar, direct people through the house, clear plates, wash dishes, and the best part.......THEY WILL TEAR EVERYTHING DOWN!!!  That's worth every penny in my books!  The last thing I wanted to do was leave my parents with a huge mess at their house, so I'm thrilled that they will allow my parents to enjoy the whole day too. I still need to figure out a time to meet with the florist and cake people.  Not sure that will happen this trip or not.

And we have a Beach House!

It has been decided!  After months of debate, discussion, blood, sweat and tears, haha, the decision has been made on this beach house.  It provided the best accommodations as far as beds, linens, towels(yes some of them actually required you to bring your town bed sheets!) and being able to check in on Friday afternoon versus Saturday.  So I'm thrilled to have one more thing decided and moving on to bigger and better things. haha
