Wine is Here!

The wine is in and so are about another thousand boxes at my parents house!  Boy will they be glad to see this wedding over with! haha I think my mom secretly likes it all though. :-)  So we decided to do just beer and wine for the reception to keep it simple and not have the need of an actual bartender to mix drinks.  So I called upon my wine enthusiast friend Holly to give me some wine options.  I knew I wanted Saracco for sure.  It's the only wine I drink. :-)  It's basically so sweet I feel like I'm having sparkling apple juice and still calling it alcohol! haha  Holly gave me the idea for the Estancia Cabernet and a nice woman at Costco recommended the Cupcake Chardonnay.  Just the name and label alone was cute enough to buy it. But no worries, we did actually try a bottle before we bottle 12 bottles of it! :-)  It's was good.  Not to sweet, not too dry.  Kind of somewhere in the middle.

Cake Tasting.....Done

My cake is going to look nothing like this unfortunately because my mom says it doesn't go with my garden theme! :-(  haha  We went for our cake tasting on Saturday.  Talk about a great breakfast!  What more could you want then 4 different cake types, with four different frostings and four differents fillings to try! Yum!  So all the cake was super moist and we were just dying over their bavarian creme fillings.  So since were doing Sprinkles Cupcakes as well, we are just doing a small two tiered cake so we have something to cut into.  It will be marble on the bottom with a bavarian chocolate creme filling with a white chocolate buttercream frosting.  Then the top layer will be chocolate with a vanilla bavarian creme with a white chocolate buttercream frosting as well.  We were so in love with this place, that we actually are going to lessen the order from Sprinkles, so we can get this bakeries mini cupcakes as well.  Brian isn't a huge fan of enormous cupcakes, so I thought he may not be the only one that would like to have a little variety and put a couple cupcakes on their plate. :-)

Santa Barbara

Since were going to Hawaii at Christmas, we decided to just stay in California for the few days after the wedding.  We chose Santa Barbara because I've never been and we thought it looked like a quaint little town.  Here are some pictures of the place were staying.  I'm really excited to see it!  Looks like it will be really relaxing.

My Jones Soda

The Jones Soda is here!  The labels are a little crooked, I misspelled something on the back of the label and the picture is blurry but I still love them! haha I got them in green apple and FuFu Berry which is pink, but that picture doesn't want to cooperate so you're only seeing the green one. :-)

Brian's Wedding Tie

For Memorial Day, we were in Chicago and luckily we found Brian's wedding tie.  I finally got pictures of it tonight so I thought I'd post them.  He's going to be wearing light pink so he won't totally clash with me when we take pictures just the two of us.  Brent wasn't a fan of the pink tie and suggested light blue. haha Not sure how that fits with a green a pink color scheme.  Brian is being a good sport about it however. :-)

Need a Map?

Need a map?  Call Rebekah!  I wanted a map for my program so people had directions back to my parent's house for the reception.  Bek had made the cutest map for Whit's wedding so I asked her to make one for mine as well.  Isn't this just the cutest?  I love Brian's hair and how he has his hand in his pocket.  So cute Bek!  Thanks again!

Packing

If this gives any indication of what my week has been like, then you'll understand! :-)  I've started packing and shipping boxes to my mom. My goal has been two boxes a day which doesn't seem like much but when you're shipping about 25 boxes it takes some time to get it all packed up and hauling that many boxes to the post office is not exactly the easiest task. haha  So I've been keeping to my minimum two package rule, but I still have a ways to go.  I still need to ship:

2 drink containers
6-8 Vases
Serving Stands
Cafe Lights
Tablecloths
Napkin Rings
3 Topiaries
3 Artichoke Pots

So needles to say I've got some work to do! :-)

Wedding Logo

So I ordered this logo from a website a couple months back and you will see it as a theme throughout the wedding.  It will be on the programs, signs, napkins, thank you cards, etc.  I just liked having some continuity throughout the wedding that was a common theme.  With Whit's she had pink and white striped ribbon everywhere, and that was her theme all throughout the wedding.  I liked that it connected all the different areas of her wedding, so I did the same thing but with a logo.

Programs

Programs is the next project I'm working on.  Of course I ordered cardstock that is too heavy to run through my home computer so I have to have them professionally printed.  Ugh!  I'm going to have to print in phases because Brian doesn't have his groomsmen confirmed yet so I can't print up the bridal party! haha I want a look like these pictures down below.

I'm just going to do pink metallic paper.

I like the fan look so it can double as a fan since it will probably pretty warm that day.

Napkin Rings

My latest project has been the napkin rings.  There were multiple phases of the napkin rings.  I couldn't possibly have just done a simple ribbon.  haha Of course I had to make one that required like 10 steps. :-)  Here's the process:

Here are the base buttons

Then you take the form and cut out your fabric shape

The fabric then goes into this rubber button maker

Then the top of the buton goes face down in the button maker

Then you push the fabric and the button face down into the rubber button maker

The button back then goes over top

Then you take the other half of the button maker and push down till it snaps together

Then you have a finished button

Whit helped me finish all of these.  I went into my room to do some trainings and before she left she said she had worked on some buttons.  I came out to find that she had finished them for me. :-)

Then all the buttons had to be glued onto ribbons

And velcro was added to attach the back.

Napkin Rings are now done
